CCMR EWS Update Log
1.CCMR Early Warning System - Report Updates
As the CCMR Early Warning System evolves we will periodically be pushing out updates to ensure that districts are reviewing the most accurately represented data possible. These updates are in direct relation to system tickets input by districts notifying us of areas that need to be addressed.
It is important to remember that the CCMR EWS report is different than the district Domain 1 CCMR calculation as it is not bound to the restrictions of the manual. This allows for the review of students possible CCMR points outside of the grade 12/graduate restrictions.
All data in this report should reflect the correlation between the PEIMS data files to the manually updated college board, ACT, TSIA and IB files.
This log is intended to provide our clients with a list of items that have been changed in the system in between scheduled system wide version updates.
2.Update Log 2020-21
Sections below this point will reflect any changes made for the 2020-21 year.
2.1.December 14, 2021
Changed all listed College Career and Military Ready labels to say CCMR. We had removed the military “M” from the titles in all reports in early 2021 but upon further review of released TEA guidance still referring to CCMR to include the ‘M’ we updated the system.

The following is a correction to the FAQ shown in the February 12, 2021 bulletin:

This value is reported by the UT systems for accountability. We are showing students who have an OnRamps code in PEIMS for review only. We are not checking for pass/fail or college credit hours at this time since the data will be pulled from an external source.
Updated To:
Field is now blank and does not reference any item in PEIMS file.
This value is determined through an external data source and is not coded in PEIMS. At this time we are not populating this value.
3.3.November 21, 2019
Updated CTE Coherent Sequence code to remove .5 point value
The chart TEA provided said that the ½ point carries through 2019 and 2020 and then its gone for 2021 and beyond.

4.Past updates 2018-19
Sections below this point will reflect any changes made for the 2018-19 year
4.1.June 3, 2019
Uploading of CCMR data file updated to accommodate different file format
Districts can now upload the following CCMR files provided by TEA. When uploading these files districts will be required to select Prelim 1, Prelim 2, or Final from a drop down selector. For more information on the upload of the file please visit the manual link here: CCMR File Center Upload
Prelim file 1 – Provided late April 2019 – Only contained TSI data
Prelim file 2 – Provided late May 2019 – Provided additional assessment data but did not include TSI
Final CCMR file – Date of release TBD – This will be the final file provided by TEA via TEAL account access
4.2.May 31, 2019
Uploading of CCMR data file to be temporarily disabled
In light of the new CCMR file provided by the state on May 31, 2019, we have disabled the ability to upload any CCMR data file into OnDataSuite. We will provide a notification to all clients once this option has been reactivated.
Explanation of why
Earlier today (May 31, 2019) TEA provided districts with a secondary CCMR PREVIEW file. This file layout differs significantly from the initial PREVIEW file provided to districts in late April that were used to in the development of both the A-F accountability system as well as the the CCMR EWS / TEA toggle fields option.
In addition to this file layout being different, the contents of this new file do not represent a continuation of the initial file values but rather creates a continuation of the fields and values that were not included in the initial PREVIEW 1 file.
We had anticipated that this new file would provide a wipe/replace option for prelim file 1 but now that we have seen the file, we are working toward a solution that will merge the data from both prelim file 1 and prelim file 2.
Example of both files that shows the change in file layout structure
4.3.May 2019
The following updates have been applied to the CCMR EWS system as of update 11.2
1. Creation of CCMR Folder to contain CCMR EWS report along with companion reports
2. Integration of improved TEA upload CCMR file (Preview and Final)
This update will allow districts to compare their CCMR EWS report to the latest TEA provided CCMR spreadsheet when uploaded into the file center. For more information on the upload of the CCMR file please visit the following link: CCMR File Upload Instructions
Once your CCMR file has been loaded you will be able to toggle ON/OFF the comparison view between CCMR and your CCMR EWS report. Values found in your TEA file will match against your CCMR EWS related PEIMS file. (Note: There will be student found within the TEA file that will not match to your PEIMS file. Districts are urged to export from their CCMR EWS report and filter to confirm total students matched)
Toggle view (Off)
Toggle view (On)
3. Addition of CCMR Supplemental File Viewer Report
When districts have uploaded a CCMR supplemental file we have now provided a searchable method of viewing all student upload files. For more information about the supplemental file and what it does please visit this location of the manual: CCMR supplemental file
4. Addition of CCMR PEIMS Checklist Report
This report displays the PEIMS elements that affect the CCMR area of state accountability. Detailed report information can be found in the report notes of this report located under the Tools/Report Information link
Usage: Use this report to review accuracy of PEIMS reporting which significantly impacts state accountability ratings.

4.7.Past items reviewed 2018-19
As the CCMR EWS evolves we will place items that will need to be addressed in the section below.

Possible incorporation of On-Ramps column value
We are waiting until further confirmed guidance from the 2019 State Accountability Manual before this can be implemented.

Military Connected Issue – RESOLVED 11.1 Update
Currently the military connected students are being populated and calculated from the Military Enlistment reported in the Leaver record in Fall PEIMS. Since these students will not be coded into PEIMS until the following year, they will not show up on the current EWS report.
Current Calculation used to determine Military Ready Component
Enlists in US Armed Forces Met
A graduate enlisting in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, or Marines.
Interchange Student Enrollment
40203 School Leaver>SchoolLeaverExtension Complex
E1589 Military Enlistment Indicator Code = 1 (C088)
Issue Response
We are aware of districts wanting to ‘add’ these indicators into the EWS report and are working on a solution. The current OnDataSuite system by design has never allowed independent entry fields as all data is derived from official data files but with the new EWS requirements for districts who want to keep a running tally we have been looking into a way that will allow districts to add fields such as this for the EWS report in the absence of a related PEIMS file.
Completed IEP and workforce readiness Issue – RESOLVED 11.1 Update
Currently the IEP and workforce readiness items are populated and calculated from the XXXXXX reported in the Leaver record of the Fall PEIMS submission. Since these students will not be coded into PEIMS until the following year, they will not show up on the current EWS report.
Current Calculation used to determine Completed IEP and workforce readiness Component
A graduate receiving a graduation type code of 04, 05, 54, or 55 which indicates the student has completed his/her IEP and has either demonstrated self-employment with self-help skills to maintain employment or has demonstrated mastery of specific employability and self-help skills that do not require public school services.
